Born under a full moon on a hot night in Paris, the lady known as Luma Rouge spent her childhood dancing at the ankles of artists, burlesque performers and bohemians. One night she was sitting backstage at the Moulin Rouge when a temperamental painter stormed past in a fury, throwing his sketchbook and charcoal to the floor as he left. Ms. Rouge picked up the book, pondered the luscious curves of the women walking offstage, and began to draw.
Since that fateful night, Luma Rouge has devoted herself to capturing the beauty and danger of the female form. Her favorite subjects are strippers, burlesque dancers and fetish queens — strong, sensual women who’ll keep you on your toes and leave you begging for more.
Luma Rouge’s work has recently been on show at the Museum of Sex in New York, in the Rizzoli book Burlesque: The Motion Picture and on the poster for the 2011 New York Burlesque Festival.
Below is a taste of her work. Original art and commissions are available upon request. Luma can also create an image for your erotic event or recreate a scene from a show or photo. Contact Luma at:
